Pray for Safety delivery of the new baby
The dog’s day is good day to pray for Safety delivery of the new baby. The reason why this day was chosen is in honor of the fact that the dogs are known for their easy delivery and high fertility.
There is a custom to choose the first dog day of the fifth month after the day of conception to put on the belly band for pregnant person. On this day, families visit the shrine together to report their pregnancy and pray for the healthy growth of the baby. If you bring a belly band, we will pray for it as well.
Examples of items offered for safe delivery
Amulet for safe delivery, little doll of the dog, sacred water, votive picture tablet, rice crackers, and tea
Fee for the pray: from 7,000 yen
We ask for a minimum contribution from 7,000 yen.
Pray on the dog’s day
Praying time from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (last admission at 3:30 p.m.). Please allow plenty of time for your visit, because the dog’s day can be crowded.
Reservation for Prayer Service
Reservations for prayer services are accepted only on weekdays by e-mail. Reservations for weekends, holidays, and the dog’s days (including weekdays) cannot book in advance. Please come directly to the shrine.
E-mail reservations can be made up to 2 days prior to the desired date.
Please e-mail us if you wish to pray in a group (10 or more people).

About the Amulet for Safety delivery of the new baby
The amulet contains three types of talismans.
1 Amulet
It consists of five letters and contains a talisman called “Itsumoji”. It is said that if you receive each letter with water after birth pains, your delivery will be easy.
2 Hemp and a stem of rice grain.
It contains hemp and a stem of rice grain. The hemp is for a strong and healthy body, and the stem of rice grain means the birth of an helthy baby, and is used as a talisman until birth. According to an old saying, if the stem of the rice grain has a knot, the baby is a boy, and if it does not, the baby is a girl.
3 Sacred stones
After the birth of the child, one of these stones is to be buried in the backyard of you house, and one is to be returned to the shrine on the occasion of a visit to the shrine in thanksgiving, so that it may be placed in the garden of the shrine to protect the healthy growth of the child.
