The name “Hachiman Okiagari” was derived from the image of Emperor Oujin wearing a crimson maternity gown at the time of his birth.
History
Yasue Hachiman Shrine enshrines three deities who made great contributions to the culture of ancient Japan: Hondawake(Emperor Ojin), Okinagatarashihime (Empress Jingu), and Tamayorihime (Princess Tamayori).
